SHMA - What is shma?
SHMA is an innovative alternative to traditional Hebrew School(now 2.0). It is an acronym for Soul, Heart, Mind Academy, a reflection of our goal to practice “whole person learning” in Jewish education.
- We touch the Soul when we help our students find their own personal spirituality.
- We touch the Heart when we foster a warm feeling toward Judaism and Jewish Values.
- We touch the Mind when we pass along the great wealth of Jewish thought and heritage.
- We call it an Academy because our students will leave our school with the skills to live a contemporary Jewish Life.
